BYE BYE 2020

Saying goodbye to 2020!! It would be a complete and total lie to say that 2020 was an easy year. However, we believe that if the universe gives you lemons, the best thing you can do is make some really yummy lemonade(or a cocktail…)! Here are just a few of the things we learned during these crazy times: We learned to appreciate the small things and everyday moments. We learned to enjoy quality family time and enjoy each other’s company- even if sometimes we prayed for the kids to go back to school! We learned that our home is the most essential place in the world- it’s where we feel safe, loved, and protected. We learned that we can work from home if we need to and that it CAN actually be very productive.

We decided to take this challenging time and invest in our design studio and in the most critical essence of it- ourselves! Dana dived into the secrets and the scientific aspects of baking, an old dream she had always wanted to pursue. We all dealt with the pressures and anxieties of the pandemic and of the year in different ways. There is something so therapeutic, almost like occupational therapy, in the process of baking. Kneading the dough just the right way, having the ability to make something entirely from scratch, and having the incredible ability to make others indulge and enjoy something you created. Both of our families absolutely ADORE everything Dana makes, whether it be freshly made pita bread, challah, pasta, or scones. You haven’t LIVED until you’ve tried one of Dana’s scones. I could literally go on and on for days about those scones, but I guess we can now chat a bit about what I accomplished this year… I decided to get over my fear of sketching. I joined a creative online design studio that teaches how to create architectural illustrations by hand. I’ve always been drawn to the art of sketching; there is something so intricate yet simultaneously rough about it. However, I was always either “too busy” or “had a lot on my hands” to even try to pursue it. Of course, this was all but a cover. Never once in my life had I considered myself an artist, and honestly, sketching scared me. But not this year. This year, I decided to make the most of the beautiful extra time gifted to me and learn how to sketch. After about 3 months of this year-long program, I can confidently say that I can kinda-sorta sketch! No, but in all honesty, I can FEEL myself getting better day by day. There is something so rewarding at learning something new and progressively improving those skills. Not only is it rewarding for me, but it most definitely will help our studio by giving us the ability to express our creativity through a personal touch. We learned so many valuable things from this crazy pandemic. Although it was challenging (and still is), we are looking forward to seeing what 2021 holds for us in our personal life and our design studio. Here are a few things we are looking forward to: We are looking forward to new and exciting projects. We are looking forward to exhilarating adventures with our families. We are looking forward to meeting exciting clients with dreams in their hearts and a glittering of hope in their eyes. We are looking forward to traveling(when it is safe!)hopefully very soon, to places we’ve always wanted to visit. There’s something about the beginning of a year that brings nothing but hope- and we’re here for it! 2021, please be good to us!!! We all deserve it!

We are looking forward to designing our dreams and yours,
to creating your beautiful home where you will feel safe, happy, and inspired.
